Bouts of depression or low mood are like the ocean's tide.

The idea behind this workbook is to try to do one exercise per day across 7-days, like an intensive course. This workbook— like Unf*ck your Brain above —centers around firstly acknowledging how you feel and then taking a solution focus to get through those nagging cycles of rumination that can be so difficult to get through. I think that this approach of acknowledging challenging times is critical to accept and move forward.

I love the clean design of School of Life design workbooks, there's plenty of space to write in them, and the activities are novel and exciting with fun illustrations that you can engage with throughout.
As human beings, there can be a predisposition to ruminate on negative feelings far more than we reflect on positive ones.
As a chronic self-doubter, I created the Smile File around the premise of capturing the small, seemingly inconsequential positive things that happen day-to-day throughout our lives so that we can reflect on them in times of need and self-doubt.
