How to Find More Time for Reading Books and Zines

Kim Rounsefell·April 13, 2022
Reading in the Park

Reading is an activity that is often overlooked in today's society. We live in a world where our time is constantly being pulled in different directions.

But one of the most important things that we can do for ourselves, and others, is to read. Reading has been shown to increase empathy and understanding of different perspectives, expand vocabulary, and improve problem-solving skills.

Reading is an integral part of a person's life. It's good to make time for reading in your daily life because it can help you grow and develop your skills. It can also help you enjoy your day better by giving you something to look forward to at the end of it.

But if you're anything like me, reading can sadly get deprioritized for other mundane tasks. So if wanting to get back to enjoying a daily reading habit, lets look at how.

How to Make Reading a Priority No Matter What

Reading is a great way to increase knowledge, improve memory and have fun. The more you read, the better your vocabulary becomes and the better you are at understanding others.

Tips for reading more books:

1. Find Time for Reading by Setting Goals

Reading is a great way to stay up to date with the latest trends. It can also improve your vocabulary. There are many apps out there that can help you set and track reading goals, such as Habitica, which can turn reading into a game.

2. Read on a Different Device Other Than Your Phone

Reading books and zines are a great engaging way to learn about information on a specific topic in an easy-to-read format. Reading zines give a really authentic experience, we highly recommend it.

3. Set Aside Time for Reading Every Day and Stick to it

Reading is so important, but we never seem to set aside the time for it. If time is something you struggle with, start small (like 10 minutes) to read every day and stick to it no matter what.

4. Read in Bed Before going to Sleep or During Breaks at Work

Reading in bed is a great way to unwind and de-stress. It can also be a productive way to spend time during breaks at work when you're feeling restless.

6. Listen to Audiobooks when Travelling

Audiobooks are a great way to pass the time when travelling by train or car. They give you the opportunity to learn new stories, enjoy new hobbies and create a unique experience for yourself.

7. Form a Bookclub with Friends

Book clubs are a great way to meet new friends, discuss books you've read and enjoy social gatherings. Book clubs can be done online or offline, and there are lots of potential activities to keep your group entertained.

8. Find Your Perfect Reading Spot Where You can Enjoy Completing Your Next Book

Reading is one of the best ways to relax and enjoy your free time. Better still, a perfect reading spot can help you enjoy reading without getting distracted by external factors. Aim for a well-lit part of the room. It won't have any distractions. You'll also have a perfect view of the book and surrounding area.

What are you planning to read next, we have a wonderful selection of empowering books and zines to choose from!
