7 Powerful Positive Affirmations For Women

Sometimes we need a mantra to get us through a difficult day or period in life. Affirmations serve as little bite-sized packets of inspiration that we can repeat, guiding us toward a better state of mind.
The stress of work, social media, friends, and societal pressures can warp us into rough shape, so having uplifting messages is important these days. We're going to explore a few positive affirmations that can serve as reminders of how wonderful you are.
Let's take a look.
1. I Deserve to Be Confident
Confidence is hard to come by sometimes. Even when we're doing our best and absolutely killing it, it's easy to slip into insecurity.
You deserve to be confident, though. You've worked hard, you're beautiful, and you're strong enough to get through whatever's been thrown your way so far. So, you deserve to be confident.
Repeat it, "I deserve to be confident."
2. My Body Is Perfect as It Is
A positive body image is something that society doesn't help us out with. Your body, though, comes from a place outside of society. It comes straight from nature, and nature doesn't make mistakes.
It's humans who make mistakes and have wrong perceptions. Your body is perfect the way it is, and that's a simple fact. It's an easy fact to forget, but that doesn't make it any less true.
3. I Embrace Being a Woman
Have you ever been made to feel like there's something wrong with being a woman? We internalize these messages and sometimes forget that they are entirely absurd.
Whatever being a woman looks like to you is the way you should be. Embrace yourself, your womanhood, and your ability to deflect anyone who tells you to do otherwise.
This is another one that's tough to do. The pain of sexism is real and valid, but the biggest transgression against those ideas is to embrace and enjoy who you are.
4. I am Confident in My Sexuality
Repeat it!
Your sexuality is a beautiful and natural piece of who you are. However you feel, whoever you're attracted to, and whatever ways you express those things are elemental to who you are.
Your sexuality is powerful, and you're not going to let the insecurities of others blur that fact. "I am confident in my sexuality."
Repeat that one any time you're feeling a little unsexy. Sometimes you just need a gentle reminder.
5. I Know What I Can't Control
A good chunk of the fears and anxieties we have about ourselves and the world have to do with things we have no control over.
The thoughts of others, traffic, others' perceptions, "imperfections" on our bodies, and more. These things take up a lot of mental space, and there's nothing we can do about them.
In fact, most of the things we can't control, like the opinions of others, we can never know. There's no way that you or anyone else will ever truly see or know the thoughts of others.
Check back in 1,000 years and maybe there'll be some technology that does that. Until then, though, you can just let it go. You know what you can and cannot control.
Take the things you can't control and make a list. Whenever those things pop up as anxieties in your mind, say "I know what I can't control."
6. I Am Worthy of Love
Love is an important part of our conception of self, others, and the world we live in. When we don't receive love, it often feels as though we're not deserving of it.
You are deserving of love, though, just like every other person on the planet. This is a good affirmation to repeat every day before you leave the house. Know that you're deserving of love and embrace that fact.
When someone doesn't show you the love you deserve, try and reflect your affirmation onto them and give them the love that they deserve. They might be feeling the same way as you and projecting it out into your relationship.
Knowing that you're deserving of love is the first step into loving yourself truly. Don't get it twisted, either, because you're as lovable as they come.
7. Things Will Change
The way things used to be isn't the way that they ought to be or have to be. The beautiful thing is that things will change. They have to.
There isn't a single thing in the universe that isn't subject to change. The cells in your body are all different than they were a few years ago, and everything around you in this instant was once at the heart of a star.
Oh, and it's all billions of years old. Even the stuff that makes the little ant crawling outside of your window.
So, if you're feeling like you're stuck and the affirmations above are too hard to implement, know that you can change. You're going to change whether you like it or not, so it might be time to direct that change in a positive way.
Ideas for Self-Empowerment
On top of affirmations, there are a lot of ways to get your spirit right.
You could consider starting a body positivity journal, using a mental health workbook, checking out a mental health zine, and more. Taking time for yourself is a method of self-care.
Self-care is whatever it means for you to improve and appreciate yourself. Self care and mental health are two sides of the same coin, and it's more important than ever for women to focus on these things.
Whether you work with a self care kit or you just pop a few positive affirmations into your head throughout the day, you're working in the right direction. If you want to love yourself a little harder, we're here to help.
