How to Start an Awesome Daily Gratitude Practice

“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” – Henry Ward Beecher
Having a daily gratitude practice can help you to feel happier and more optimistic in your life. It’s like when you go outside and feel the warm sun's rays touching your skin. It just makes you feel happy inside.
Here are some ways to get started with an awesome gratitude practice.
1. Pause
Aim to set aside a moment in the day to pause and think about something you might feel grateful for. It might be as simple as seeing a blue sky or reflecting on a song you love.
It doesn’t matter what it is so much, rather, the practice of gratitude itself. I tend to set aside a specific time every day to do this, which makes it easier to remember.
2. Write it Down
Write down your gratitude, practice is optional. But I like to do it because it allows me to look back on it later.
You could write in a journal, or add gratitude notes to a jar—whatever works for you. For example, I keep a gratitude journal next to my bedside and write one sentence in it each night with the date— perfect!
If you’re not one to write things down, not a problem, just making a mental gratitude note is good too.
3. Start Small
The best bit is practicing gratitude is that it doesn’t need to turn into a big hoo haa ritual to fit into your life. There’s already enough going on!
Just take a quick moment once a day, start small, try to notice the little things, a color, a book you love, a favorite indulgence.
Practice gratitude and the ideas will flow more each day.
